Background
VOCAD is a joint initiative of Collabrant Group, STRiVE and IFMR Trust. VOCAD’s mission is to bridge the gap between Rural ,Semi Urban and the Urban areas through Vocational Education. VOCAD would like to build a network of various stakeholders in the ecosystem in order to help the youth transit into employment in a smoother fashion.
Objective
VOCAD’s objective is to bridge the skill gap and provide trained manpower to various emerging service sectors in India Inc. and strive towards the development of skilled manpower for diversified sector through short term job oriented courses.This would result in bridging the gap between "Bharat" where manpower is available and "India Inc." where Jobs are available, and create a uniform platform for Bharat Incorporated.
Concept
VOCAD will open Learning Centers in every district Head Quater's in the country over the next 5 years which offers courses that create employability or give career enhancement for the rural and semi urban youth.
VOCAD will be an educational venture offering courses in the service sector verticals of Emerging Business, Banking, Finance, Securities and Insurance (BFSI) and in few Technical areas.
VOCAD is committed to give these courses at an affordable price point to the students. The courses will be at a fee structure which will be approximately equivalent to a month’s salary on employment.
VOCAD would conduct a Basic Aptitude Test for the students before the admission. Based on the Basic Aptitude Test results, students will be counselled for pre foundation courses before they are sent for skill upgradation. On passing, the students will be placed through VOCAD's Jobs Xchange
